Maui Onions
Two characteristics set the Maui onion apart from other yellow onions: the high sugar and high moisture content of its flesh.

A purple baby scallion, young red onions are about half the size of a pencil and sport crisp, green onion flavored tops. The purple bulb of this unusual onion measures about two inches in length. Delicious raw, the flavor is succulent and mild.
Applications
A great-tasting scallion, this mild mannered onion loves to be included in mixed green fresh salads. Ideal edible garnish for a myriad of savory creations. Include on veggie platters and hors d'oeuvre trays. Garnish grilled, sautéed or roasted meat and vegetable medleys. To store, refrigerate in a plastic bag. Use within five to seven days for optimum quality.
