Maui Onions
Two characteristics set the Maui onion apart from other yellow onions: the high sugar and high moisture content of its flesh.
White Corn
White corn is a sweet corn variety. Its ears are wrapped in tightly layered pale lime green to white husks. One ear of corn can contain up to 400 kernels growing in rows lengthwise.

The iceberg lettuce that is developed for supermarket standards is the lettuce that was cultivated under total environmental control. Once this iceberg lettuce completes its growing cycle, it is oxygen deprived, eliminating the opportunity for the lettuce to quickly breakdown. This lettuce was built for the long haul. Iceberg lettuce grown under environmental control can be shipped globally and command a shelf life of up to three weeks.
Description/Taste
Iceberg lettuce has two truly redeeming qualities. Its tightly bound and broadly shaped leaves are thick-walled and concentrated with more water than virtually any other green. What iceberg lettuce may lack in flavor it makes up for in its lip-smacking succulence and crunchiness. Iceberg lettuce varies in color depending on each particular cultivar, where and how it was grown. Outer leaves range in color from sea green to lime green while inner leaves range from pale yellow to a translucent white. All the leaves form a nearly perfect globular head.
Nutritional Value
Iceberg lettuce is not as nutritionally dense as darker greens; it is a good source of potassium, iron, calcium, fiber and Vitamin K.
Applications
The classic use of iceberg lettuce is a cold wedge salad with Roquefort or Blue Cheese dressings. Use leaves as wraps or in a sandwich or hamburger. In Chinese cuisine the stem becomes just as important as the leaf.
