Cheery and sunny yellow wax beans are slender, long and uniform in shape. Varying from light yellow to deep yellow, this attractive wax bean has a thinner velvety skin and a subtler flavor than the common green bean. Yellow, wax, snap, green and string are words referred to beans picked while the pods are fleshy and soft and while the seeds are very tender.
Yellow Wax Beans are available June into August.

One hundred percent organic, this successful farm grows fifty to sixty-five different produce items on its thirty-five to fifty-four acres of fertile land. Native to the tropical climate of Central and South America, "wax" has become a common term and is used in referring to any yellow bean whether it is waxy or not. True wax bean types actually do have a waxy texture and feel. Yellow wax beans are steadily gaining culinary popularity. Growing in both tropical and temperate areas, wax beans prefer at least a fifty-day frost-free growing time. Warm soil is required for the proper seed germination of bean plants.
