Description/Taste
As there are dozens of cherry tomato varieties available, the size and colors will vary, but generally cherry tomatoes are globe-shaped and weigh about a half ounce to one ounce each. The perfect cherry tomato will be firm, thin and smooth-skinned and it will have excellent flavor and juiciness, balancing acid and sweetness perfectly.
Seasons/Availability
Cherry tomatoes may be found year-round, but are best in the summer.
Current Facts
Cherry tomatoes can be classified as determinate or indeterminate. Determinate varieties grow on bush-like plants with short vines and bear just one crop per season. Indeterminate varieties are long-vined plants. They will bear fruit continuously throughout the season. Most indeterminate cherry tomatoes are heirloom varieties. These Cherry tomatoes come from Dassi Family Farm. Established in 2013, they are a local sustainable greenhouse located in Leucadia, CA that specializes in growing tomatoes to supply local restaurants and communities.
