The Yali Asian pear is a Chinese variety pear that has a similar shape to the Bartlett. It has a smooth, greenish yellow skin and crisp, juicy flesh. The flavor of the Yali Asian pear is sweet tart with subtle hints of anise and other spices.

Though of no relation to apples Asian pears are often referred to as apple pears because of their crisp and juicy apple like consistency.
Low in sodium, fat and calories, fresh pears have no cholesterol and provide a source of dietary fiber, vitamin C and folate.
