Description/Taste
Red scallions are immature onions that have long green, hollow stalks and are entirely edible. These scallions come in bunches and have long green thin leaves that range from 12 to 15 inches in length. The lower bulb has a deep red to purple color at the base with small thin root extensions. The Red scallion offers a typical scallion flavor that is somewhat sweeter than the conventional variety.
Seasons/Availability
Red scallions are available in the late winter and throughout the early spring and summer months.
