Description/Taste
The Gaviota variety is a rather young cultivar which was first fruited at the University of California Wolfskill Experimental Orchard in 1992. It is a short-day strawberry that produces well in wet and cold seasons. Its fruit has a conical shape, typically less aromatic than other berries but makes up for that in its ruby red color and delicious taste. Gaviota strawberries are low-acid, have exceptional fruit quality and quintessential strawberry flavor.
Seasons/Availability
Gaviota strawberries are available from Gloria Tamai during the spring and summer.
