Maui Onions
Two characteristics set the Maui onion apart from other yellow onions: the high sugar and high moisture content of its flesh.
Cantaloupe Melon
The cantaloupe is defined by two elements: its roughly netted stone and green colored skin and its aromatic orange-coral colored flesh. When perfectly ripe, the flesh is juicy, unctuous and sweet.

Virtually all of the major varieties of pears were first cultivated two centuries ago and therefore nearly all pear varieties are "heirloom."
Description/Taste
The round Kosui pear has a delicate skin that is orange over a greenish yellow background. Their sweet flesh is crisp and juicy with a hint of vanilla.
Applications
Perfect eaten fresh in a salad or served on a cheese board. Delicious grilled and served alongside an entree or atop vanilla ice cream for a sweet treat. They work well for dishes that require advanced preparation such as buffets as their flesh does not brown when cut. Will keep stored in the refrigerator for up to one month.
Geography/History
The top regions of pear production outside of Asia are in Italy, the United States, Spain and Argentina. Penryn Orchard was originally planted in 1980 by Japanese immigrant, George Oki. He planted 10 varieties of pears and 8 different varieties of persimmons. Today all the fruit that was originally planted still grows prolifically and is cared for using 100% sustainable farming methods.
