Yellow creamer potatoes are the grape-sized tubers prematurely harvested from many different varieties of yellow potatoes. The Yellow creamer potato has thick skin that is moist and buff in color. Its flesh is a warm yellow with a creamy texture.

Yellow creamer potatoes are botanically known as Solanum tuberosum. Though often harvested from the common Yukon Gold, Yellow creamers can also be harvested from any other yellow potato as long as they sized, typically 1” in diameter or less. This miniature potato’s tender texture and flavor is largely due to its reduced starch content.
While Yellow creamer potatoes are typically prepared by roasting, boiling, or grilled, and then incorporated into potato salads, or cut into chowders. Yellow creamers airy texture and mild flavor can be paired well with a bit of fat, such as bacon or olive oil. Garden herbs such as rosemary, thyme and fresh chives, are another wonderful compliments to the Yellow creamer.
The potato is native to the Andes where is was spiritually revered and depended upon as a food staple by the ancient Incas. The potato was brought to Spain the 16th century, and from there the potato spread throughout the globe.
