Tiger Stripe Figs
Inventory, lb : 0
Description/Taste
Variagted figs are medium sized with a rather bottom-heavy tear-drop shape and yellow and green stripes. Beneath the green-ribbed skin lies a magenta or crimson-colored seeded pulp with an amazingly concentrated flavor of strawberry or raspberry jam. Their high sugar content has earned them the name “Candy Stripe” figs, and they are considered to be one of the best tasting of all figs.
Seasons/Availability
Varigated figs are available in the late summer through fall.
Current Facts
Variagated figs are also commonly referred to as Tiger Stripe or “Panachée” figs. They are a variety of Ficus carica known for their unique “tiger” stripes of green and yellow. They are a late harvest fig that requires a long, warm growing season to develop their extraordinary sweet flavor.
