Green cauliflower is a hybrid of cauliflower and broccoli, both members of the species Brassica oleracea. Cauliflower, botanical name Brassica oleracea var. botytis, belonging to the plant order Capparales, is a cool season biennial. Sprouting cauliflower develops from buds located in the bases of the older leaves and share similar characteristics to mature cauliflower but on a smaller scale.
