Fresh sea beans are can be eated raw, blanched, sauteed, steamed or baked.
Sea beans are known by other names including sea pickle, sea asparagus, samphire, glasswort, marsh asparagus, marsh samphire, salicornia and pousse-pied.
Originally found only in the wild primarily flourishing on the coasts of Europe, this edible plant is now cultivated on the compatible desert coasts of the Sea of Cortez.
