Purple Variegated figs have a thin, yellow-green skin turning into a violet-brown as it ripens with violet-brown stripes. Inside is a pink flesh that is super-sweet, with a jam-like pulp, and an intense berry flavor. The edible seeds are numerous and generally hollow unless pollinated. Purple Variegated figs are best eaten fresh but are also great preserved and dried.
