Nectarines, botanical name, Prunus persica nucipersica, are a stone fruit and species within the genus, Prunus, alongside cherries, apricots, plums, and almonds. Developed by Burchell Nursery, under the trial name BN6, the Pegasus nectarine is grown by acclaimed fruit farmer Andy Mariani of Andy’s Orchard in Morgan Hill, California.
