Description/Taste
Peach blossoms are pale pink with a deep magenta center. They have five petals and are 2-3 centimeters in diameter. The flowers appear very early, even before the leaves begin to emerge. Their mildly sweet aroma is reminiscent of honey and almond and they have a fruit nectar finish on the palate.

Peach blossoms are available in the early spring.

Peach blossoms are produced by the deciduous tree botanically classified as Prunus persica. As member of the Rose family, relatives include plums, cherries, peaches, apricots and almonds. There are hundreds of varieties of peaches, all belonging to two categories- the freestones and the clingstones. Regardless of the cultivar, all Peach blossoms are virtually identical. The Peach blossom is the Delaware state flower.
