Galia Melon
The Galia melon has a lightly netted golden yellow rind with a pale glacial green succulent flesh that has a signature spicy sweet flavor with tropical and perfumed aromatics.

Orchids are of the genus Orchis and a member of the family Orchidaceae. With over 22,000 species they are the largest family of flowering plants. One variety in this family, the vanilla orchid is used to create the flavoring in vanilla extract. There are also many varieties that are able to mimic the pheromones and appearance of different insects as a way to lure them into assisting in pollination.
Description/Taste
Known as much for their fragrant perfume as for their beauty, orchids exude an aromatic scent that can vary from subtly sweet and grass like to rich vanilla and spice depending upon type. This purple variety has a delicate floral scent. Its petals are dark to bright purple on the petal edge and transition to lighter shades of purple and eventually white approaching the center of the flower. They have the classic bilaterally symmetrical orchid shape and are attached to a strong creamy white stem.
Applications
Orchids are ideal for use as natural decor on wedding and birthday cakes, pastries, salads and fruit or cheese boards. Use as garnish for tropical drinks or float atop punch or cold soups.
Geography/History
Orchids were long believed to have a relatively recent origin but DNA from fossil findings has proved otherwise. Orchids can now be traced back over 100 million years to the time of the dinosaurs. Since this time the orchid family has undergone much evolution and expansion and currently can be found growing in nearly every corner of the world except for Antarctica.
