Orange Honeydew Melon
Oval-to-round and a delicious cross between a cantaloupe and a honeydew, the very fleshy juicy orangish-yellow pulp of the orange honeydew melon is encased in a hard very yellow matching rind.

Description/Taste
Mini pumpkins are a small ribbed version of the common large, orange pumpkin and weigh about five to seven ounces. An attractive deep-orange color, the outer surface of this tiny pumpkin is usually much smoother.
Applications
Though not ideal for eating due to the small amount of flesh, these mini varieties are often used for ornamental or decorative purposes. Great for small hands, these mini pumpkins can be decorated with markers or paint. Hollow out and bake for a unique soup, custard or soufflé dish. Fill as you would a bell pepper for meatloaf or rice stuffings.
Geography/History
Mini pumpkins thrive in a diverse range of soil types but should not be grown where another cucurbit crop has been grown in the past two or three years as they will possibly develop a powdery mildew. Mini pumpkins can be grown on a trellis or fence unlike their larger counterparts.
