Kakai pumpkins are a small to medium sized varietal that averages five to eight pounds in weight. Kakai pumpkins are known for their dark green to black vertical stripes and for containing completely hull-less, dark green, edible seeds. Although also edible, the flesh of the Kakai pumpkin is not as palatable.
Kakai pumpkins are available in the fall.
