Description/Taste
Jerry's Berries are a sweeter and softer berry that has been developed as a produce stand-only strawberry. Most of the berries are smaller but don't let their size fool you! They pack more sweet juicy flavor than any native strawberry variety around.
Nutritional Value
Strawberies are known as a "super food". They pack in more vitamin C than any other berry. One cup equals 70 percent of the recommended daily intake. They also contain cancer-fighting antioxidants.
Applications
These berries are eat-from-the-basket sweet! They can also make an excellent no-sugar needed puree and are great for a fresh strawberry vinaigrette!
Geography/History
The Galante Strawberry is a variety native to Europe. It was originally developed specifically to be able to grow with no pesticides and very little fertilizer, much like a wild berry. Unlike the bigger, harder berries these berries are bread to be soft, which lends to its sweet taste and texture.
