Wasabi
Wasabi is a perennial and a member of the Cruciferae family. It is grown mainly for its underground rhizome (tuber) which produces branch-less, edible leaves above ground. A mature wasabi root is firm, cylindrical, brown and green-skinned and tapered.

Because the farming area is enclosed and wind is not an option for pollination, Beylik Family Farms uses the help of bumblebees for pollination purposes. Bumblebees are less aggressive, less territorial, only bite instead of sting and do not produce honey like common bees. The bees are responsible for eight to ten thousand plants with about twenty thousand flowers.
Japanese tomatoes are large, red and juicy. The meat of this weighty tomato is thick with a soft tomato flavor. Its juice has a sweet and slightly tart bite to it.
An excellent source of vitamins A and C, tomatoes are low in calories, cholesterol-free, contain potassium and provide folate and fiber. Tomatoes are noted for containing the antioxidant compound lycopene, which may help protect against prostate cancer and heart disease.
Because of its size the Japanese tomato is perfect for a stacked salad or for layering in a ratatouille. They are excellent served raw topped with mozzarella and drizzled with an aged balsamic. Roasting and grilling will enhance this tomatoes flavor, try sliced thin and served atop a pizza or savory tart.
