The Lobster mushroom is actually a parasitic hybrid of the fluorescent red-orange fungal parasite, Hypomyces lactifluorum, and the brittle white mushroom, Russula brevipes.

Enterprise apples look similar to McIntoshes, with a glossy red/maroon color and round shape, though they can sometimes be lopsided. The skin is very thick and tough and the yellow flesh is fine grained and firm. The flavor is mildly tart and richly spicy. While it is tasty right off the tree, the flavor improves after a month or two of storage. The taste has been compared to Fuji apples.

The Enterprise apple is a modern American variety of Malus domestica especially known for its disease resistance. This was the ninth apple developed with the joint breeding program at the Indiana, Illinois, and New Jersey Agricultural Experiment stations. The Enterprise’s parentage includes McIntosh, Golden Delicious, Rome Beauty, and crab apple. They are easy to grow and make good home orchard apples.
One medium apple has fewer than 100 calories, but is nutrient-rich, with almost 20% of the daily recommended value of dietary fiber and nearly 15% Vitamin C. Apples also contain some B vitamins and boron, which benefits the skin and bones. Apples do not contain fat, sodium, or cholesterol.
As a versatile apple, Enterprise can be eaten fresh out of hand or dried, but are particularly recommended as a cooking and baking variety. Make applesauce with Enterprises, or bake into pies and cakes flavored with cinnamon and cardamom. Enterprises are good storage apples, keeping up to six months in the refrigerator.
Some modern breeders seek to develop new apple varieties specifically resistant to disease. Growers use fewer pesticides on apple trees with greater disease resistance, and are more assured of a high-quality crop. The Enterprise has good resistance against apple scab, cedar rust, fire blight, and powdery mildew.
The first Enterprise seedling was planted in 1982, then developed into a commercially-viable apple and released to market in 1993. The “pri” in the middle of the Enterprise name actually stands for Purdue-Rutgers-Illinois, the three apple breeding stations that collaborated on developing this variety. This is cold-hardy variety suitable for northern climates in the United States.
