Wasabi
Wasabi is a perennial and a member of the Cruciferae family. It is grown mainly for its underground rhizome (tuber) which produces branch-less, edible leaves above ground. A mature wasabi root is firm, cylindrical, brown and green-skinned and tapered.

Description/Taste
These small, “thumb” size peppers measure about three inches tall and have a crisp texture. They are sweet and have very few seeds, so they produce very little waste. Mini Sweet peppers are thinner-skinned than larger peppers and their texture withstands grilling and cooking.
Applications
Mini Sweet peppers are great eaten fresh, out-of-hand or added to any number of dishes. Stuff peppers with cheese or ground meats; add raw peppers to salads or pasta dishes for added texture. Roasted Mini Sweet peppers make a nice addition to soups or stews. If refrigerated, the peppers will keep for up to two weeks, left at room temperature they will lose their crunchy texture within hours. Freeze roasted or grilled peppers for future use.
Geography/History
Mini Sweet peppers are grown in Mexico's Western coastal states, Baja California and Florida. They are a hybrid of bell peppers and hot peppers developing a small, sweet pepper without the heat.
