
Mache
Mache has been cultivated in France since the 17th century, and in France it is known as doucette. It is also known as "lamb's lettuce" because its leaves resemble the size and shape of a lamb's tongue.
White Corn
White corn is a sweet corn variety. Its ears are wrapped in tightly layered pale lime green to white husks. One ear of corn can contain up to 400 kernels growing in rows lengthwise.

Ethnic/Cultural Info
In China, this plant is known as huang hua ai. In Japan it is called yomogi. In Korea, it is called ssuk or tarae ssuk and is closely related to Dangun Sinhwa, legend of Gojoseon, the first Korean kingdom. Popular in Korean cuisine, it is also used as a medicine. It is used for making tteok (rice cake); jeon, a Korean style pancake; and ssuk kimchi, ssukguk, a soup made with ssuk.
Geography/History
Asiatic wormwood is primarily found in the eastern part of Asia, such as the Korean Peninsula, Japan and Mongolia. It also grows in China's northeast, north, east, southwest, Shaanxi and Gansu regions. Prolific and easy to naturalize and adapt, it grows wild in roadside grass. Moist fertile soil is its favorite home.
