Asiatic wormwood is primarily found in the eastern part of Asia, such as the Korean Peninsula, Japan and Mongolia. It also grows in China's northeast, north, east, southwest, Shaanxi and Gansu regions. Prolific and easy to naturalize and adapt, it grows wild in roadside grass.
