Description/Taste
The golden-fleshed Carola potato is smooth-textured, waxy and creamy. Egg-shaped, this medium sized potato has light brown, edible skin and is similar in flavor to a yellow Finn potato.
Applications
The carola potato's firm texture holds up well in grilling and roasting, both processes with bring out the potato's natural flavor. Carola potatoes may also be baked, steamed or mashed.
Geography/History
Native to Germany, this potato is locally grown. Located just east of Paso Robles, Windrose Farm specializes in growing fruits, roots, beans and greens.
