Description/Taste
Appearing to be a bit flattened, Sierra Beauty apples are tenderly wrapped in a greenish-yellow colored skin and sometimes sport a lovely red blush or attractive stripes. The flesh is firm and succulent. Its flavor is perfectly sweet-tart.

Geography/History
Locally grown and located just east of Paso Robles, California, Windrose Farm specializes in Fruits, Roots, Beans and Greens. Fortunately finding fifty fertile acres in 1990 that would soon flourish with premium heirloom apples, winter squash, melons, potatoes, garlic, onions, leeks, dry beans and greens, by 1995 Windrose Farm's thriving crops were in full swing. The region's microclimate, which is when there is a dramatic temperature swing of at least fifty degrees Fahrenheit that can occur within the same twenty-four hours and from season to season, is credited for Windrose Farm's superior heirloom apples, melons, carrots and many other of its beautiful and flavorful bounty. Specialty Produce strongly supports and endorses the California farming industry and our local farmers, ranchers and growers. This apple's beginning was at Chico, California, in the late 1800s. The California Apple Industry actually dates back to the 1800s. According to California apple-growing history, Watsonville and Sebastopol located along the Central and Northern coastal regions were the first to accommodate thriving apple orchards. California's fall apple harvest is said to start off the apple picking season. Washington State's apple season follows next and British Columbia's apple harvest is close behind.
