Applications
For a tasty spread, toast two cups sunflower seeds in a frying pan over medium heat eight to ten minutes stirring constantly until lightly browned. Transfer to mixing bowl; mix well with one-half cup tahini stirring to coat seeds. Spread seeds in a single layer on large platter; cool to room temperature. While seeds are cooling, combine one-fourth cup lemon juice and one minced garlic clove in a small bowl; set aside. Put seeds in a food processor or blender; add juice mixture, two tablespoons soy sauce, one stalk finely chopped celery, one tablespoon minced onion and one-half cup water. Blend until a fairly smooth consistency. If not served right away, cover and refrigerate. Add water as needed if spread becomes too thick.
