HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Coleman Farms, Rutiz Farms and Tutti Frutti will NOT be at the market this week.  Schaner Farms has green garlic!! and beets!  Coastal Organics has beautiful lettuces, as does McGrath Farms.  Baby artichokes are on hiatus until mid-January.

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA WINTER CROPS:

MARKET FORECAST:

Winter is finally upon us and the weather is driving what will be picked.  There is rain and snow in the forecast so expect the unexpected***

Citrus is abundant at the market:  Kishu, satsuma and clementine mandarins, oro blanco grapefruits, cara cara oranges, meyer lemons, bears limes, kaffir limes – it’s time for our favorite winter fruits!!!

WINDROSE FARM HAS BEAUTIFUL CHINESE AND JAPANESE CABBAGE AS WELL AS AN UBER SWEET “Dollhead” ESCAROLE – You really need to check these out!!

Chinese Chirimen Hakusai:  A loose leaf yet large cabbage that is actually an old variety from Japan popular for its beautiful crepe textured and light green leaves. It grows to a robust 12″ in diameter.
